It's a question that is asked by a lot of people in this country, but there is an entrenched minority that has the power to prevent a comprehensive national health plan.
It tends to be conservatives, Republicans, business owners, wealthy people who can afford to pay for the level of health service they need. Also the insurance companies are don't want any changes because they are reaping record profits from overpriced drugs. It has gotten so bad here that it's not just low income it is adversely affecting what has always been referred to as the middle class. I firmly believe that my share of a tax to help support a national health plan would not be nearly as much as what I am currently paying out of pocket for my insurance premiums....it's a broken system that won't get changed until those who control it are gone from the scene.
Take you political feelings elsewhere.
